There is more to attending a university than reading a book, studying for class, making the Dean’s List or eating at the Grill. To become more aware of your surroundings, you must get involved. Get involved to change the negative into the positive. Get involved to know your rights as a Central State University student and a United States citizen.

I took a poll on the yard and found that just 1 out of 3 students actually researched the school, city and state before they enrolled at Central State University. As a result, many students really have no idea what is available to them at Central State.

Here are the names of just a few organizations active at Central State University: the NAACP, Student Government Association (SGA), the Diversity Club, the football team and the Divine Nine greek letter organizations. These organization can help you as a individual to become more aware of your surroundings.

These organizations are community-based. They work directly and indirectly with the community to provide educational, health and political experiences to students who are and are not familiar with the campus and city community. They allow students to network, to grow both mentally and socially, and to speak out on important issues.

Marauders, let’s get involved to build a foundation for the future and to maintain a great university.
