Media Day March of the Marauders

The football team and marching band get in gear for fall

By Gold Torch Staff

Sunday, August 7, 2005

Aside from semester class schedules, the return of football to Central State is arguably the most anticipated new feature of campus life this fall. A variety of local media representatives descended on campus to preview the new football crew for Media Day and the CSU band proved worthy of sharing the limelight. The football team, under head coach Theo Lemon, and the Invincible Marching Marauders [view photos here], under the musical direction of Brian Millsapp, have begun preparations for the exciting sports and entertainment season ahead.

Football camp has been going on for most of the summer. Players are preparing for a six game season [see full schedule]. The band has just begun an intensive 5:00 am to 9:00 pm daily schedule during their official camp rehearsals. Efforts by all the gentlemen on the football team and the talented women and men in the band will surely increase a sense of pride the entire CSU community can share.
